Text Analysis
Voyant, Proquest TDM, Constellate, and other such text analysis programs.
This workshop will provide an introduction to using Voyant for text analysis. Included in this workshop will be an overview of Voyant; a showcase of projects that use Voyant; when it is appropriate to use Voyant; uploading and exploring a corpus in Voyant; how to embed Voyant and export your data; and resources for help. All are welcome to attend regardless of skill level.
Adapted from the Building Legal Literacies for Text Data Mining Institute that took place in June 2020, this presentation will discuss the basics of copyright, licenses, privacy, and ethics as they relate to text data mining and digital humanities research.
This presentation will demonstrate how to use ProQuest TDM Studio, ProQuest's text and data mining platform. This platform enables researchers to create datasets using licensed ProQuest content and analyze those datasets by running Python or R scripts in an accompanying Jupyter Notebook. The platform's workbench where researchers access their datasets and Jupyter Notebook enables researchers to work collaboratively on a project.

This demonstration will walk researchers through how they can use Constellate, JSTOR and Portico's text and and data analytics platform, in their research. Constellate enables users to teach and learn text analytics; build datasets from across multiple content sources; and visualize and analyze datasets. Visit the Constellate website to learn more.
This workshop is for researchers who want to learn more about text analysis, from folks who have no knowledge of coding to those who are proficient in Python. This demonstration will introduce researchers to three text analysis platforms: Voyant, Constellate, and ProQuest TDM Studio, and describe use cases for each.
Whether you want to work with transcripts or tomes the same basic considerations apply. This short talk will discuss the kinds of text data, give information and tips on how to obtain it, showcase the ways in which software can assist in the research process, and help narrow down which software may be best for you.
Are you a researcher in a Humanities discipline and want to know more about what tools you can use to get started with text analysis? This short presentation will discuss three user-friendly text analysis platforms: Constellate, Voyant, and ProQuest TDM Studio.
Whether you are a novice or have prior experience with text analysis you are welcome to attend this lightning workshop on ProQuest TDM Studio. Learn more about the content available for mining within the TDM Studio interface, the dataset limits, the analyses you can perform, and export limits.
